Excellent. Really very good. As someone hoping to teach history, I aspire to be able to explain things as well and as grippingly as you guys do.

I honestly can't tell which I'm looking forward to more, the continuation of the main narrative, or the next episode on Venice.

Thanks!

Thanks so much! The Venice episodes are a ton of fun to work on, but I need to keep reminding myself that I can't do 2 podcast series at once while also in graduate school. I'm very strongly considering doing a stand-alone Venice series when the Unification one is done.

Howdy - very much enjoying the podcast - nice work!

One niggle - there was no Austrian Empire nor an Austrian Emperor during the time of the French revolution. Instead you refer to the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation of which the Habsburgs traditionally filled the role of Holy Roman Emperor and King in Germany.
The Habsburgs were in fact archdukes of Austria as well as King of Hungary and Croatia, and Bohemia, etc.

The Habsburgs declared themselves Emperors of Austria in 1804.

Thanks!

Good point, that was definitely a mistake on our part. In episode 8 I take a few minutes to correct our error. Thanks for letting us know so politely, we really appreciate it!
